The Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) is seeking applications for candidates to join the on-call group of Administrative Support staff at its Head Office, located in Nelson, BC. The hours of work for these positions will range between 0—35 hours per week. Work in this position is paid at $22.27 per hour.
As assigned, Administrative Support workers will be responsible for providing clerical and administrative assistance across a variety of departments to ensure seamless service provision. Duties will include the general administrative tasks, including but not limited to records management, preparation of correspondence, providing excellent customer service, processing mail, preparing agendas and minutes, taking payments and other administrative items as directed.
The ideal candidate will be an adaptable, dependable professional who enjoys working in jobs with variety – not just in the people they will work with, but also the tasks and goals they will complete.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
– Completion of Grade 12 or recognized equivalent
– Two or more years experience in a fast paced administrative or receptionist role
– Demonstrated clerical and administrative skills
– Proven ability to work on a variety of computer software packages
– Attention to detail and accuracy
– Ability to work as part of a collaborative team
– Professional communication skills with the ability to deal with the public with tact and courtesy
Preference will be given to candidates with previous work experience in a government setting and/or post-secondary qualification in administration.
